The Rules

- You must showcase your interest in lolita as a subculture/hobby to be apart of this ring. While you may be a lolita in your life and your site is seperate from that, this webring is intended for lolitas to see other lolitas on the web. It sparks joy.

- EGL is a collector's hobby. This means I tend to prioritize the collector/owning aspect when figuring out who to let in. Concrete ways to show off collections are via coords pages, blogs where your discussions of the subject are clear, outfits, etc etc. General lace decoration does not equal lolita.

- Despite the collector's focus, moderation wise, sometimes creative liberties are taken for lolitas who may express their interest online in other ways. After all, lolita is a subculture.

- At it's core, the ring is intended for lolitas showcasing their passion about the hobby. There's multiple ways to showcase this passions. Web pages are unlimited. Please take your time to figure out the best way.

- Tiny notice: If your site is full of artworks and cute imagery, I focus on lolita silhouettes and motifs in these artworks. Magical girls, large skirts, and frills do not automatically equal lolita. Saying "I like this aspect of lolita" is not the same as being a lolita or drawing lolita either. I do not want to be a stickler about this, but lately more art focused sites are applying that have aspects of EGL in them but that are more focused on girly aesthetics in general.. I do enjoy these artworks, but it is not what the ring is focused on. Sometimes I get confused, but usually it boils down to me talking to other lolitas I know and going "can you easily see this as EGL or is it just adjacent?" If the answer is "No" or "I don't know" then usually, I just don't add the site because the point is for the lolita interest to be obvious. Many lolita spaces and tags are full of adjacent "aesthetically pleasing" imagery and fashions. I am trying to avoid this. An easy way around this is dedicating a page or something to lolita that showcases your knowledge of the subculture (I tend to look through shrines, blogs, collections, media logs, etc).

- Constant activity on your site is not required but if you break the widget or remove all EGL content from your site, you will be removed!

- Sometimes I let sites in even if broken / having not yet expanded on EGL fashion. I remove these sites later during my prunings if no EGL content has been added or the site is still so broken that I cannot navigate it. I recommend getting your site to a navigatable state before applying. I promise I am not THAT strict about it.. It genuinely is just a matter of me Not being able to access content.

- Blogs hosts are welcome as long as you can include the JS widget with your host (chances are you can!)

- You must not host content that is specifically malicious or hateful to any group of people.

- 18+ only websites can't join. NSFW is fine on your site. Many adult women in are in this ring, but please label it, so that users uncomfortable with NSFW content can avoid it and so that minors browsing the ring don't come upon it.

- People who use lolita as part of their kink aren't welcome in this ring forreasons that are obvious, but to go into detail for those who get confused.

- Obviously I have no way of knowing what you do in your private life (and I really don't care), and I believe lolita can exist alongside erotic elements, but if your relationship with EGL fashion is related to fetishization or kink notorious for disturbance of lolitas (sissification, d*lg, yetc), please do not apply!!

- This webring is for people who wear lolita fashion and it is often part of our lifestyle and identity, so using our stuff for fetish material is uncomfortable. Please respect our boundaries and go into another space. There are plenty for you that don't involve interacting with people who don't consent to that!

- Please put the Cult of Usukumya web widget when you apply! The arrows will appear on the side of the widget after you've been accepted. You may have to clear your cache to see it on your end!

- I remove people who don't have the widget or who remove their EGL content every once in a while, but do no worry. I can readd you if you just reapply or contact me some other way!

- If you need to make edits to your entry, please email the webmistress at ophanimkei@disroot.org or submit another entry. You are also free to poke me in my guestbook for other concerns. Please don't knitpick my rules.
