Q: Haii!! I js wanted to say that all your games and your art overall means so much to me and has influenced me in such a way that I actually am learning both coding and trying to improve my drawing after years of feeling burnt out!! :33 what inspired your personal style the most?? sending lots of love and i hope youre feeling better ur art means the world to me (˶˃ ᵕ ˂˶)
A: Hello! Thank you so much. I'm really happy to have such a positive influence on you. Coding is a nice hobby to have. It helps with logic skills, and it's something I enjoy doing when I'm burned out on art. And well, drawing is just always fantastic for your brain. Most people think they can't draw and don't recognize that it is a skill anyone can acquire. Or well, many artists burnout and never draw again!

Regarding what has inspired my personal style most, well, I tend to pick apart anything I see and absorb it, but the biggest artist that influenced me early on was Atsushi Ohkubo - specifically in early Soul Eater days.

His style has always been cool to me.. I like how he draws proportions and expressions and his compositional skills are cool (though my compositions nowadays are not really similar to his I think and the era of my art with more backgrounds with some of his influence are not online anymore or at least not easy to find..)

I don't have actively think about SE or analyze Atsushi's art or anything but I feel like his art will always influence mine whether or not I am actively thinking about SE because it was one of the first anime I watched that I fell in love with the style of.. Probably in my first 5 read manga too.

My rendering is completely different nowadays though.. Honestly painterly anime renderings have just been a big trend and I love it. I have just been learning what looks good over time. I wish I could point to a specific painter I enjoy who I absorb the techniques of but well I tend to just absorb everything. There's even art I dislike on my inspiration blog because I feel like I can learn something from it. I get inspired by weird things or techniques that don't even apply to my medium lol. Like, I love Kenji Tsuruta, and I think my love for him is why I try to put more work into how I render hair and clothing but well, his techniques don't really translate to how I work so I just have to figure out how I want to do it.. And artists I like who do have techniques similar to what I enjoy often don't draw things I do (like.. curly hair) so I just have to figure it out myself lol.. Though even if I think I've figured out something on my own, it's always possible I am taking inspiration from other artists without realizing. This is especially possible because I sometimes fixate on how an artist does something then forget about the fixation entirely and move on lol.

IE. I love Junko Mizuno and know I used to study her ink work and proportions but I don't remember anything. She doesn't post on social media (much), so I never really.. remember what her art looks like exactly lol. I just have vague ideas of it in my mind. So any inspiration is often warped.

Also thank you for hoping I feel better. I'm feeling much better most days! I was in pain yesterday which made me cancel all my plans but it's because if I don't pay close attention to my eating habits, that happens haha! So it was easy to recover from!
